Where Year 10 sits in the journey

Year 10 closes out compulsory science in the Western Australian Curriculum, and it is built like a launching pad. Each strand finishes lower school with its biggest ideas: genetics and evolution in biology, bonding and reaction patterns in chemistry, the origin of the universe in Earth and space, and Newton's laws in physics. Schools draw on Year 10 results when advising on senior science courses, which makes this the most consequential science year since Year 7.
